Sea Slugs

A name which belies their often exotic appearance, these creatures are usually difficult to spot because their colours merge in with their surrounds.

Coming in all manner of patterns, colours and body shape, they live on a range of different foods. Some have the capability of producing their own nutrients by photosynthesizing sunlight. They often protect themselves chemically - by tasting foul to would be predators. Others swallow whole the stinging cells of their prey and use them for their own defense.

And they make great subjects for photographers...
